Public Wall Writing in Philadelphia book release
This past Wednesday evening we celebrated the release of PWWIP and Megawords Magazine issue 6 at the Fleisher Ollman Gallery. We were a bit worried about snow, but the skies cooperated nicely and the halls of the gallery were at full capapcity. Thanks to the director William Pym, we were given free range over the space, and we of course took full advantage.

The event was catered by Wadada foods, and beer was supplied by the generous Sam Schwartz of the Philadelphia independent. The installation of artist Isaac Lin Was invaded by DJ Nag Champa who provided the sound for the night. As for Megawords, we presented a slide show of the images in the book, created a small installation from one of our newsboxes that was struck by a car on Germantown Avenue (shown above), and of course had books for sale (being sold below by Megawords staff Zoe and Eliza)along with new issues of Megawords. We also showed the Jungle documentary and a short film about vandalism made in the 70's by ABC TV. But before you go, let's not forget the new Megawords Mix tape complete with choice selections from Megawords Radio.

We couldn't be more pleased with the way the event took place, and we've got to thank everyone who helped us make it happen (especially Ryan Collerd for the images on this page). The mix of crowds at the after party (hosted by Nicky $$) was great, conversation was intense and the drinks flowed freely. Next up for team Megawords: the New York release party ... stay tuned.
