Workshops and Speaking

We've created a series of workshops and talks to broaden our conversation and guide others tackling difficult or new ideas. We've presented our ideas at The University of the Arts, The American Institute of Graphic Artists, Colophon (Luxembourg), Rutgers University, The University of Pennsylvania, The Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We believe that these learning and teaching exchanges are crucial to individual and organizational growth. Don't sit on the sidelines at the entrance to the maze. Go for a walk with us instead.

Zine Making
An introduction to material production using your own ideas and resources. Zine-making demonstrates a direct path from concept to realization of a physical object. Regardless of your medium of choice, this process empowers your creative voice by encouraging you to execute your ideas and put them out into the world. Start making things happen now! Two 3 hour sessions.
Make it Good, Make it Slow
Anthony Smyrski calls on his experiences as an artist and designer to tell a story that redefines the role that work can play in our lives and demystifies the creative process. Through anecdotes and first-hand experience, he shows how it's possible to develop a successful practice that's relevant and fulfilling, serves a larger social purpose, and is financially sustainable. 1 hour sessions.
Going Freelance
This workshop deals with the basics: finding work, finding a space to work, getting paid, working with accountants, keeping books, and other small business advice. Dancers, painters, tattoo-artists, designers, actors or anyone else ready to strike out on their own will find this useful. 1 hour sessions.
Collaboration Workshop
This talk will introduce the basics of collaboration, and give practical advice on how two seemingly fundamentally opposed worlds can work together to produce fantastic results. We'll shed light on ways to approach business from a more creative angle, and art from a more pragmatic perspective. 1.5 hour sessions.
